Gushan is the largest biodiesel producer in China, as measured by annual production capacity and one of the largest biodiesel producers in Asia, as measured by nominal capacity, according to a report by Frost & Sullivan, a market research and consulting firm, dated May 23, 2008. The company produces biodiesel, a renewable, clean-burning and biodegradable fuel, primarily from vegetable oil offal and used cooking oil, and by-products from biodiesel production, including glycerine, plant asphalt, erucic acid and erucic amide.
